Recommended Reading

Dan is proud to be a lifelong reader and has read on average one book per week since 1991! Dan recommends all of the classic novels, including Uncle Tom's Cabin by Stowe, The Sound and the Fury by Faulkner, The Odyssey by Homer, Leaves of Grass by Whitman, Treasure Island by Stevenson, The Scarlet Letter by Hawthorne, Don Quixote by Cervantes, Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky, Rhetoric and On Poetics by Aristotle, Moby Dick by Melville, Gulliver's Travels by Swift, Robinson Crusoe by Defoe, all of Twain, Thoreau, Dickens, Steinbeck, Hemingway, all of Greek Mythology, the histories of all wars and revolutions, that we may learn from our past, and Poe.
As a consummate professional speaker, Dan believes he must read what his customers and corporate audience members are reading so he begins each day by reading USA Today and changes every other day from the Wall Street Journal to the New York Times. Dan also begins each month with the current Time and Business Week issues and for interesting conversation, Sports Illustrated and Entertainment Weekly.
